ABOUT Melanie is Wild & Flower Studio's Owner and Artist. She has been creating and selling fun and whimsical pieces of art since she was two years old. As children, Melanie and her sister, Stephanie, regularly played Craft Store using an imaginary telephone, coloring books, markers, and crayons. All of their masterpieces were "sold" to fictional customers who called on their pretend phone to place custom orders for artistic drawings. The girls kept very busy running their make-believe (yet highly successful) craft business for many years!
Creating art has always been Melanie's passion. Over the years, transforming her childhood imaginary arts and crafts business into a real art studio became her mission and eventually led to the evolution of Wild & Flower Studio. Now a few decades later, and using slightly more advanced artistic techniques than coloring with crayons and markers, Melanie uses upcycled and repurposed containers, such as old and antique vases, candy dishes, perfume bottles, candle holders, salt & pepper shakers, picture frames, and many other materials such as metal wire, felt, and fabric to create highly unique, cheerful works of art. She has been happily creating and selling her original art for more than 20 years. Her items are featured in local stores and at many annual art shows across the state of Colorado. She also offers commissioned pieces.
